1.Noted Tamil writer and Sahitya Akademi award winner Prabhanjan died at 83, He got Sahitya Akademi Award for his historic novel "Vaanam Vasapadum" in 1995.

2.The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched the "Asiatic Lion Conservation Project" to protect and conserve the population of Asiatic Lion and its associated ecosystem. 

3.Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal , has been conferred the Skoch Chief Minister of the Year Award for 2018 for her contribution in the overall development of the state and emerging as the best chief minister in the country.

4.The Ministry of Aviation along with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has launched an official mobile app "GAS-2019" for the Global Aviation Summit (GAS) for 2019, which is scheduled to be held in Mumbai in January 2019. 

5.The National Mathematics Day (NMD) is celebrated every year in India on December 22 to commemorate the birth anniversary of great mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.

6.Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announced a Rs10,000 crore scheme for the overall development of farmers. Named Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA), 

7.India successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable long-range ballistic missile Agni-IV, with a strike range of 4,000 km, as part of a user trial by the Army. The strategic surface-to-surface Agni-IV missile.

8.Prime Minister Narendra Modi releases a 100 rupees commemorative coin in honour of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth anniversary, which falls on 25th December, is celebrated as 'Good Governance Day'. 

9.The federal government of Burundi has declared Gitega as the country's new political capital on 22nd December 2018.Burundi is a landlocked country in the African Great Lakes region of East Africa.

10.The NITI Aayog has recently released the report titled “SDG India Index: Baseline Report 2018”, which evaluates progress in social, economic and environmental terms,Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have emerged as top performing states.

11.The National Consumer Day (NCD) is observed every year in India on 24th December,The 2018 theme is “Timely Disposal of Consumer Complaints”.On this day the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.

12.Krakatoa island in indonesia a volcano-triggered tsunami has killed at least 281 people. Italy’s Mount Etna volcano has erupted again resulting in more than 130 earthquakes of up to 4.3 in magnitude.It is the largest active volcano in Europe and one of the world’s most frequently erupting volcanoes.

13.The National Farmer’s Day (NFD) 'Kisan Diwas' is celebrated every year in India on December 23 to mark the birth anniversary of 5th Prime Minister Late Chaudhary Charan Singh.His statue recently unveiled at UP.

14.The State Minister for Culture and Tamil Development Shri K Pandiarajan announced setting up of the country's first music museum in Thiruvaiyaru, Tamilnadu. 

15.On 24 December 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a stamp and a coin to commemorate the Paika rebellion of 1817 in Odisha. The Paika Rebellion was the first war of Independence against the British. 

16.The 106th Indian Science Congress (ISC-2019) will be held at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Punjab on January 3-7 with theme ''Future India: Science and Technology' .

17.PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bogibeel bridge India's longest rail-cum-road bridge in Assam. The 4.94-kilometer long Bogibeel bridge on Brahmaputra river will connect the two northeast states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

18.The Indian Railways has won 17 awards at the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2018. This is the highest number of awards bagged by a single organisation. These awards are given by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) of the Ministry of Power.

19.Noted sitar player Manju Mehta has been conferred with the 'Tansen Samman' for 2018 by the Madhya Pradesh government for her contribution in the field of Music.

20.On 26th December, the tribal Baduga community in the Nilgiris district of Tamil nadu is celebrating their annual Heddaiyamman festival.The Badagas are an indigenous tribal group in the Nilgiris.

21.The Centre has reportedly decided to rename Ross Island, Neil Island and Havelock Island in Andaman and Nicobar,The occasion is to mark the 75th anniversary of Netaji's visit to the islands.

22.The separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh will start functioning from January 1. Andhra Pradesh High Court will be the 25th High Court in the country. 

23.Madhya Pradesh State government has declared Kuno wildlife sanctuary as a national park in compliance with the last condition imposed by a Supreme Court-appointed committee for the much awaited 'translocation of Asiatic lions from Gir in Gujarat'. 

24.China has launched its first communication satellite to provide broadband internet services worldwide. The satellite is the first in the Hongyun project planned by China.

25.Niti Aayog has released the Second Delta Ranking of the Aspirational Districts Programme.Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu has shown the most improvement overall.
