He held two portfolios in the NDA Government; of Parliamentary affairs and Chemicals and Fertilizers.  2.The 33rd edition of ASEAN summit 2018 has started in the city-state of Singapore on November 11 with theme ‘Resilient and innovative Asean’. 3.SIMBEX, the 25th edition of the India-Singapore bilateral naval exercise has begun at the tri-services command on November 10, 2018. The exercise is being held in Port Blair, Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. 4.The inaugural edition of Indian Navy - Indonesian Navy Bilateral Exercise 'Samudra Shakti' began at Surabaya, Indonesia. The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Rana of the Eastern Fleet based at Visakhapatnam . 5.West Bengal cabinet, headed by CM Mamata Banerjee, decided to set up development boards for the Matua and Namasudra communities. This decision was taken for social representation and welfare of the 2 communities present in large numbers in the state.
