1.Serbia women's volleyball team beat the Italian team 3:2 in a grand finale of the Volleyball Women's World Championship in Yokohama, Japan, on 20th October 2018. Serbia won the Volleyball Women's World Championship title for the first time.

2.The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated the International Arya Mahasammelan - 2018 in New Delhi on October 25. The Arya Mahasammelan is touted as being a platform for the Arya Samaj to project its views on major caste-related issues and problems concerning backward sections of society.

3.India's Sourav Kothari defeated Peter Gilchrist of Singapore 1134-944 to clinch the 2018 WBL World Billiards Championship title. 

4.The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes the Vigilance Awareness Week every year during the week in which the birthday of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel (31st October) falls. This year, the Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 29th October to 3rd November,2018 on the theme “Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India”.

5.In New Delhi, Malayalam author Benyamin has bagged the first JCB Prize for literature for his book ‘Jasmine Days’, which explores the lives of South Asians in the Middle East.

6.India and Bangladesh have recently signed several agreements for enhancing inland and coastal waterways connectivity between the two countries for and cruise movements. The two countries have signed an agreement to use Chattogram and Mongla Ports in Bangladesh for movement of goods to and from India.

7.Renowned sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar, who has designed the Statue of Unity in Narmada district in Gujarat, will be conferred with the prestigious 2016 Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony.

10.Belgium has secured number one spot in the latest FIFA's world rankings released on 25th October 2018. Belgium and France were tied at the top spot in September 2018. 

11.Michael D Higgins has been re-elected as the President of Ireland.

12.In Men’s Hockey, India and Pakistan were declared joint winners of the 5th edition of Asian Champions Trophy 2018 at Muscat in Oman on October 28,Akashdeep Singh has been declared the Best Player of the tournament.

13.The Manipur government will celebrate the “2018 Sangai Festival” at three venues namely Keibul Lamjao, Imphal (Hapta Kangjeibung and Lamboikhongnangkh).

14.The Andhra Pradesh government is building a world-class and India’s first ‘Justice City’ within its new capital Amaravati with the vision to provide a state-of-the-art ecosystem built on latest technology for supporting the judicial system in the state.

17.apan and India have entered into a $75-billion currency swap arrangement that will bolster the country’s firepower as it battles a steep drop in the rupee’s value. CSA is basically involve in trading in their own local currencies, where both pay for import and export trade, at the pre-determined rates of exchange, without bringing in third country currency like the US Dollar.

19.Statue of Unity has been inaugurated in Surat. The Statue of Unity is built in dedication to Iron Man Sardar Vallabhai Patel,At 182 metre,The Statue of Unity was brought to fruition by Padma Bhushan-winning sculptor Ram V Sutar.
