1. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched a new web portal 'Budget Dashboard', incorporating features of Ministry of AYUSH and Department of Health Research. 1. India and Niger singed an MOU for establishment of the Mahatma Gandhi International Convention Centre in Niamey, Niger. This was signed Mr. Saidil Mohamed's visit in India. 2. Cyclone-30 , the biggest cyclotron in India for medical application became operational in at VECC, Kolkata. Kamlesh Nilakanth Vyas , Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, has been appointed as the Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission and the Secretary of Department of Atomic Energy. 3.The Government of India (GoI) has proposed to merge state-owned Vijaya Bank, Dena Bank and Bank of Baroda (BoB) to create India's third largest lender as parts of reforms in the public sector banking segment. 1. Delhi government has rolled out its ambitious project to deliver public services at the doorstep of residents. It's first of kind service in the country for doorstep delivery of essential government services. 2.India and Afghanistan agreed to enhance cooperation under the 'New Development Partnership'. India had announced taking up 116 "high impact community developmental projects" in Afghanistan. 3.The Ministry of External Affairs signed an agreement with the Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) for the implementation of e-Network Project between India and Africa. Naomi Osaka became the first Japanese woman to win a Grand Slam title after she registered an emphatic win over Serena Williams in the finals of the U.S Open. 2.In the US Open Tennis, Novak Djokovic of Serbia won the Men's singles final. He defeated Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina in straight sets. It was Djokovic's 14th Grand Slam title and the third US Open title. 3.India's current account deficit (CAD) widened to a four-quarter-high at 2.4% of gross domestic product (GDP) in April-June period on the back of rising crude oil prices, from 1.9% of GDP in the January-March quarter of 2017-18. The  current account deficit  is a measurement of a country's trade where the value of the goods and services it imports exceeds the value of the goods and services it exports. 4. 1. National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 335 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to West Bengal. The fund was allotted in August 2018. It will be used for 158 minor irrigation projects and 23 flood protection projects.  2.Arif Alvi is elected as the President of Pakistan.
