1.Delhi government has
rolled out its ambitious project to deliver public services at the doorstep of
residents. It's first of kind service in the country for doorstep delivery of
essential government services.
2.India and Afghanistan agreed to enhance cooperation under
the 'New Development Partnership'. India had announced taking up 116 "high
impact community developmental projects" in Afghanistan.
3.The Ministry of External Affairs signed an agreement with
the Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) for the implementation of
e-Network Project between India and Africa. The two projects namely
e-VidyaBharati and e-AarogyaBharati (e-VBAB) will work in the field of
tele-education and tele-medicine. The projects will be completely funded by the
Government of India.
4.India, Iran and Afghanistan held their first tripartite
meeting in Kabul, Afghanistan during which implementation of the Chabahar port
project and a host of other issues including ways to deepen counter-terror
cooperation were discussed. The Indian delegation was led by Foreign Secretary
Vijay Gokhale.
5. India and Brunei has approved an MoU on
Cooperation in the operation of Telemetry Tracking and Telecommand station for
satellite and launch vehicles, and for cooperation in the field of Space
Research, Science and Applications.
6.The Union Cabinet approved new Umbrella Scheme 'Pradhan
Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan, PM-AASHA. The Scheme is aimed at
ensuring remunerative prices to the farmers for their produce as announced in
the Union Budget for 2018 the announcement was made by the Agriculture Minister
Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi.
7.The
second edition of the 10-day Nepal-China joint military exercise “Sagarmatha
Friendship-2018” will be held at Chengdu, the capital of China’s southwestern
Sichuan Province, from September 17.
8.Asian
Development Bank released its 2018 Flagship Statistical Report for Asia and the
Pacific. This report provides the latest available economic, financial, social,
SDG indicators and environmental statistics for the 48 regional members of ADB.
This year's report is focusing on: Technological Innovation for Agricultural
Statistics.
9.Hindustan Shipyard Limited announced that India's first
ocean surveillance and missile tracking ship VC 11184, will undertake its first
sea trial in the first week of October 2018.
10.K.J Alphons, the Minister of State for Tourism (IC),
Government of India inaugurated the first tribal circuit tourism project in Chhattisgarh. Swadesh Darshan scheme is
one of the flagship schemes of the Ministry of tourism, for development of
thematic circuits in the country in a planned and prioritised manner.
11.The
agricultural festival of Nuakhai has started in Odisha on 13th September 2018.The
Nuakhai Juhar is a major ritual of the festival.
12.Under article 124 of the constitution, President Ram Nath
Kovind has appointed Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the 46th Chief Justice of India
(CJI). He will assume office after the current CJI Dipak Misra retires on
October 2.
13.The 2018 G-20 trade and investment ministerial meeting was
held at Mar del Plata in Argentina on September 12-13. From India, Commerce and
Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu participated in the meeting.
14.Cabinet
approves continuation of Capacity Development Scheme for
the period 2017-18 to 2019-20.The scheme is to augment infrastructural, technical
as well as manpower resources for making available credible and timely Official
Statistics for policy makers and public at large.
15.Ministry of Culture has discovered a hoard of 254 Copper
Coins in the premises of Khirki Mosque Delhi during the course of
conservation of the monument.It was built by Khan-i-Jahan Junan Shah,
the Prime Minister of Firoz Shah Tughluq.
16.NASA has successfully completed the final
test to qualify Orion’s space capsule’s parachute system for flights with
astronauts.NASA’s Orion spacecraft will serve as the exploration vehicle
that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain
the crew during the space travel, and provide safe re-entry from deep space
return velocities.
