1.India and
Niger singed an MOU for establishment
of the Mahatma Gandhi International
Convention Centre in Niamey, Niger. This was signed Mr. Saidil Mohamed's
visit in India.
2.Cyclone-30, the
biggest cyclotron in India for medical application became operational in at
VECC, Kolkata. It is under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and will be
commissioned in 2019.This facility will provide for affordable radio isotopes
and related radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic use for cancer
care.
3.DRDO successfully flight tested the indigenously developed
surface-to-surface tactical missile 'Prahaar', 'Prahar'
is a contemporary weapon system capable of carrying multiple types of warheads
and neutralizing a wide variety of targets. 150 Km is the strike range of 'Prahar'.
4.The Odisha Assembly
has recently passed a unanimous resolution to name the newly-built Jharsuguda airport after noted freedom
fighter Veer Surendra Sai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to
inaugurate the airport on 22 September 2018.
5.The Women's Boxing
World Championships, to be hosted by India after more than a decade, will
be held from November 15-24, 2018, in New Delhi.
6.All-women crew of INSV Tarini has bagged the prestigious
Tenzing Norgay National Adventure award for beating the odds in water with
their enduring skills and sailing
across the world for 8 long months.
7.India
and Sri Lanka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for construction
of a 5000-metric ton temperature controlled warehouse in Dambulla.
8.Indian
Cricket Captain Virat Kohli and world champion Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu will
honoured with the prestigious 2018 Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna by President
Ram Nath Kovind on 25th September 2018.
