1.he G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting was held in
Salta, Argentina. It took place as part of Sherpa Track for 2018 G20 Leaders'
Summit, which is to be hosted by Argentina by end of 2018. The theme of the
meeting was 'Building consensus for fair and sustainable development'.
2.Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari signed an MoU
with six states (UP,Rajasthan,Uttarakhand ,Himachal
Pradesh ,Haryana,Delhi) for the construction of the Lakhwar
multi-purpose project in the upper Yamuna basin to deal with water
crisis.
3.Former India opener Lalchand Rajput was appointed the head
coach of Zimbabwe national cricket team by the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC).
4.Tamil Nadu has launched a campaign to highlight the impact
of plastic pollution. He appointed actor Vivek as the brand ambassador of
the project.
5.Neeraj Chopra became the first-ever Indian javelin thrower
to win a gold medal at the Asian Games.
6.The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) will start
operating its regional centre on the campus of Wetland Research and Training
Centre near Chilika Lake in Odisha. BNHS is India's premier avian research
institutes. The centre will carry out research on the avian disease by
collecting samples and monitor the Nalabana Bird Sanctuary
7.India's first interstate connected wind power project
commissioned in Bhuj Gujarat.he energy generated from this project is
being purchased by Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
8.The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on 29 August
each year. This day marks the birthday of Dhyan Chand Singh, the hockey player
who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1934 and 1936.

10.The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has decided
to launch `Gaganyaan — India’s first human spaceflight programme’ by
2022. GSLV Mk-III launch vehicle will be used as launch vehicle.The
programme will make India the 4th nation in the world to launch a Human
Spaceflight Mission.
11.On August 28, Manjit Singh clinched gold in the men’s 800 metres
event at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, Beside this, Indian sprinter Jinson
Johnson from Kerala also won the silver at the same event.
12.On August 29, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs
(CCEA) has given its approval for the umbrella scheme “Ocean Services,
Technology, Observations, Resources Modelling and Science (O-SMART)” of
Ministry of Earth Sciences.
