1.The book "No Spin" is the autobiography of
renowned Australian bowler Shane Warne, which will release on October 30.
2.The 9th edition of Mountain Echoes Literary Festival 2018
was held in Thimphu, Bhutan. This festival is an initiative of the India-Bhutan
Foundation and Siyahi, an Indian literary agency.
3.Dr. G Satheesh Reddy has been appointed as the chairman of
DRDO for a two year term. He will also be the Secretary, Department of Defence
Research and Development (DoDRD).
4.Scott Morrison was sworn in as Australia's 30th prime
minister.
5.The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS),
a global monument conservation body, has launched an initiative to assess the
damage to the rich cultural and built heritage in flood-devastated Kerala and
set up an emergency response platform. ICOMOS is also an advisory body to the
UNESCO for cultural heritage, in particular for implementation of the World
Heritage Convention.
6.The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to organize a
youths' conclave "ATAL - Arunachal Transformation & Aspirational
Leadership" in Itanagar on 22nd September 2018. The aim of the 3-day ATAL
conclave is to engage youths in the age group of 18 to 30 years of the state
pro-actively in the areas of public policy and governance.
7.On
August 24, the National Electoral Transformation (NETA) mobile application has
been launched by former President Pranab Mukherjee wherein voters can review
and rate their elected representatives (MPs& MLAs) as well as hold them
accountable.

Sindhu become the first Indian badminton player to enter the finals of
Asian Games 2018.
9.Hima Das won the Silver medal in 400-meter race in ongoing
Asian Games 2018,Indonesia. Muhammed Anas won Silver medal in Men's 400m
race.
10.The third edition of Indian Ocean Conference is set to
begin on August 27 at Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The theme of the two- day
conference will focus on 'Building Regional Architectures', particularly with
regards to trade and commerce, security and governance.
11. India's first biofuel-powered flight landed in
Delhi, covering the distance between Dehradun & Delhi. The biofuel is
developed by Indian Institute of Petroleum. The flight test was successfully
completed by SpiceJet.
12. INS
Vikramaditya is the India’s only aircraft carrier to have marine hydraulic
system,The ship weighs 40,000 tonnes and is the biggest & heaviest ship in
the Indian Navy.
13.Fouaad Mirza from Bangaluru clinched silver in the
equestrian event with a score of 26.40 at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games on
August 26. With this, he became the first Indian to win an Asian Games
individual medal in the equestrian event after 36 years.
