1.Bayannur, a city in northern China, is on high alert after a suspected case of Bubonic plague was reported Recently. The plague is a disease caused by the bacteria Yersinia pestis, which is found in animals, particularly rodents. It can be transmitted to humans through infected animals and fleas. 

2.The World Bank and the Government of India have signed a loan agreement to enhance support for the Namami Gange programme that seeks to rejuvenate the Ganga river.It is an umbrella programme which integrates previous and currently ongoing initiatives by enhancing efficiency, extracting synergies and supplementing them with more comprehensive & better coordinated interventions.National Ganga River Basin Authority. Headed by the Prime Minister.

3. The fourth edition of the virtual Ministerial on Climate Action was recently held. The meeting was co-chaired by European Union, China and Canada. Developed country parties were called upon to do their part as envisaged under UNFCCC and its Paris Agreement. The UNFCCC was adopted in 1992 at the Rio Earth Summit, which marked the beginning of the international community’s first concerted effort to confront the problem of climate change. Known also as the Rio Convention.

4. A Himalayan butterfly named Golden Birdwing is now India’s largest. 

5. Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Prakash Javadekar has inaugurated Unique "Urban Forest" at the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India(CAG) in New Delhi. The "Miyawaki method"of forest creation is employed which could help to reduce the temperature and increase the moisture.

6. PM Narendra Modi will on July 10, 2020 inaugurate the Asia's largest solar power plant at Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh. 

7. President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind has virtually inaugurated the celebrations for the Dharma Chakra Day 2020 Organized by International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), in Partnership with Union Ministry of Culture

8.India ranked 117th (score: 61.9) in the 2020 SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Index topped by Sweden (84.7).

9. Vice President Venkiah Naidu has launched India's first social media app named Elyments. The app allows users to make free video or audio calls and chat privately or in groups. 

10. World's largest COVID care centre, the 10,000-bed Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre, inaugurated at Radha Soami Satsang Beas in Chattarpur, Delhi.

11. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) released the picture of the closest and biggest moon of Mars named "Phobos" which was captured by Mars Colour Camera (MCC) onboard India's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM).

12. The United Nations International Day of Cooperatives is annually celebrated on the first Saturday of July which falls on 4th of July in 2020. The theme of International Day of Cooperatives 2020 is "Cooperatives for Climate Action”.

13. The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh launched the Ladakh Food Security Scheme. Radha Krishna Mathur is current Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh.

14.All India Radio is set to broadcast its first ever News magazine program in Sanskrit.
The program is named as ‘Sanskrit Saptahiki’.
