4.Odisha’s Kandhamal Haldi (turmeric), famous for its healing properties, has received GI tag.A GI is primarily an agricultural, natural or a manufactured product (handicrafts and industrial goods) originating from a definite geographical territory.Once the GI protection is granted, no other producer can misuse the name to market similar products.

5.India has signed an agreement for setting up the India-Africa Institute of Agriculture and Rural Development (IAIARD) in Malawi, a landlocked country in southeastern Africa.
