1.The Indian Sundarban was accorded with the status of 'Wetland of International Importance' in the Ramsar Convention. Indian Sundarban which is also a UNESCO heritage site.

2.According to Election Commission, West Bengal has the maximum number of first-time voters, around 20.1 lakh, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. WB is followed by Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

3.FIFA) President Gianni Infantino has recently announced that India will host the 7th edition of U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2020.

4.Africa-India Joint Field Training Exercise (AFINDEX-19) between the Indian Army and 16 African nations will be conducted in Pune from March 18 to 27. 

5.Microsoft has announced that it has partnered with The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to promote its Project 'Sangam' which is developed to accelerate Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in India. Project Sangam is a cloud-hosted, mobile-first community learning platform.

6.President Kovind presented Padma Bhushan to Shri Sankaralingam Nambi Narayanan for Science & Engineering.The scientist was instrumental in developing the Vikas engine that would be used for the first PSLV that India launched.

7.Former Supreme Court judge and current member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Pinaki Chandra Ghose has been named as the India’s first Lokpal (anti-corruption ombudsman).

8.For the first time, Uttar Pradesh has undertaken census of otters in its protected areas. The exercise that began in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) will be completed by the end of March 2019.

9.President Ram Nath Kovind awarded the 'Nari Shakti Puraskar' to the renowned Kathak dancer Seema Mehta for her contribution towards women empowerment over the last 15 years.

10.34th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisations (SCOs) Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) Council held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A joint exercise 'Sary - Arka - Antiterror 2019' will be held as decided by the RATS in the session. India, Pakistan and other member nations will participate in the joint anti-terrorism exercise.

11.'INS Vijit' has become the first-ever Coast Guard ship to visit Indonesian port of Sabang on March 17, 2019. The ship is commanded by Comdt T Ashish.

12.Bengaluru FC won the 5th edition of the Indian Super League (ISL-2019) by defeating FC Goa 1-0 in the final at the Mumbai Football arena on 17th March 2019.

13.Karen Uhlenbeck has become the first woman to win the Abel Prize, a mathematics honour first given in 2003. It was established by the Norwegian government.

14.Exercise MITRA SHAKTI is conducted annually as part of military diplomacy and interaction between armies of India & Sri Lanka. The joint exercise for the year 2018-19 will be conducted in Sri Lanka.

15.Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's first and only President, announced his resignation on March 19 after 29 years in power. He has been Kazakhstan's President since 1990.

16.Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba, presided over the day long review session of largest War Game of the Indian Navy - the Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise (TROPEX 19) intended to examine the conduct of the exercise and to assess the operational preparedness of the Indian Navy.

18.UNEA  Fourth Environment Assembly was held in Nairobi, focusing on the theme “Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production”.

19.The Kaladan project connects Sittwe Port in Myanmar to the India-Myanmar border.
The project was jointly initiated by India and Myanmar to create a multi-modal platform for cargo shipments from the eastern ports to Myanmar and to the North-eastern parts of the country through Myanmar.
20.Japan’s Hayabusa2 spacecraft will follow up last month’s touchdown on a distant asteroid with another mission,It is an asteroid sample-return mission operated by the Japanese space agency, JAXA,
21.Indian Department of Post has released a ‘special stamp cover on Ice Stupa’. It is  to create awareness about depleting glaciers and affect the ecology around the Himalayas.
22.The United Nations has released the World Happiness Report- 2019.The list is topped by Finland, India figures at 140th place,
