1.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and
the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) signed an agreement for the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) to host the prestigious Asia Cup. The Asia Cup 2018 will have
cricket teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
2.Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar won bronze in 10m Air Rifle
mixed Team Shooting event in Asian Games 2018, Indonesia. It was a maiden
Asian Games medal for Apurvi.
3.The United States government has awarded the Legion of
Merit (Degree of Commander) to General Dalbir Singh Suhag (Retired), of the
Indian Army, for exceptionally meritorious service as chief of the Army staff,
Indian Army.
4.The Central Government launched the 'Digital Northeast
Vision Document 2022' in Guwahati. North East Indian region has become the
newest member of the Centre's flagship programme 'Digital India'
initiative.
5.The
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has become the first Public Sector Unit
(PSU) to make a transaction on the “TReDS platform”.The TReDS(Trade Receivables
Discounting System) platform is an online electronic institutional
mechanism for facilitating the financing of trade receivables of Micro, Small
and Medium Enterprises (MSME) through multiple financiers.
6.The
Indian and Thailand's armed forces concluded a two-week long platoon level
military exercise called 'Exercise Maitree 2018' in Jammu & Kashmir's
Srinagar.
7.Union Ministry of Women and Child Development announced to
observe September 2018 as the National Nutrition Month to mark the country's
fight against malnutrition.
8.According to All India Financial Inclusion Survey
(NAFIS) by NABARD was released. According to the survey; more than 88 per cent
of rural householdshave bank accounts.
9.India and Japan have resolved to expand their maritime
cooperation and work together to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific
region.
10.The Union Home Ministry has agreed to relax conditions
laid down in the ‘four-corner agreement’ signed with Bru migrants for their
repatriation from Tripura to Mizoram.As per the agreement, the central
government will provide financial assistance for
rehabilitation of Bru community members in Mizoram.
11.The microcystallites are
a new type of gold in the form of very small crystals developed by researchers
from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR),
Bengaluru.The
microcystallites were synthesised by decomposing an organic complex containing gold and other
ions under controlled conditions.
12.India has banned the import of pet coke for use as fuel,
but has allowed shipments for use as feedstock in some industries.India is the
world’s biggest consumer of petroleum coke, which is a dark solid carbon
material that emits 11% more greenhouse gases than coal.
13.Government of Telangana has launched for the first time
Disaster Response Force (DRF) vehicles in the Hyderabad city.
