1.The World Bank launched 'bond-i', the world's first bond to be created, allocated, transferred and managed by using distributed ledger technology. This was the first time that investors supported the World Bank's development activities in a transaction that is fully managed using the blockchain technology from start to finish.

2.Indian rowers Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh won Gold in  the men's 'Rowing'  at the Asian Games 2018.

3.The 9th edition of 'Mountain Echoes Literature Festival 2018' has started in Thimphu, Bhutan. It will celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan. 

4.Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has given recognition to Kho-Kho, India's indigenous sport. it has the possibility to be included as a discipline in the next Asian Games. 

5.A new satellite that will use advanced laser technology to track global winds and improve weather forecasts has been successfully put into orbit. The name of the satellite is "Aeolus",it was launched by The European Space Agency (ESA) from French Guiana.

6.The book “No Spin” is the autobiography of renowned Australian bowler Shane Warne, which will release on October 30.

7.On August 23, the 2018 India Banking Conclave (IBC) was held in New Delhi to address issues of India’s Banking Sector. It was organized by Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the government Think Tank NITI Aayog.

8.A National Logistics Portal is being developed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to ensure ease of trading in the international and domestic markets. The portal will link all the stakeholders of EXIM, domestic trade and movement and all trade activities on a single platform.

9.NASA will shortly launch the Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission to measure  in unprecedented detail changes in the heights of Earth’s polar ice to understand what is causing ice sheets to melt fast.
