1.Union minister of chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar announced that the country's first e-waste recycling unit will come up in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The unit, to be set up by the ministry, is likely to be ready in four months, and is in keeping with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive. Bengaluru ranked third after Mumbai and Delhi and generated nearly 92,000 tonnes of e-waste annually.

2.The Reserve Bank of India licensed Bank of China to operate in India. This decision comes as part of the commitment made by PM Modi to the Chinese leadership. Bank of China will now have operating offices in India. The United Kingdom's Standard Chartered has the highest, 100 branches in India as of now.

3.NITI Aayog, in collaboration with various ministries and industry partners, is organising 'MOVE: Global Mobility Summit' in New Delhi in September 2018. This Summit will help drive Government's goals for vehicle electrification, renewable energy integration and job growth and also speed up India's transition to a clean energy economy.

4.The Madhya Pradesh government has launched an outstanding power bill waiver scheme and subsidised power scheme ‘Sambal’ for labourers and poor families.The purpose of the scheme is to make sure that all the households have power facility in the state. 

5.The Sunil Mehta committee which was formed with a view to tackle Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) and creating credit capacity submitted its report with recommendations to Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on July 2, 2018.

6.The famous cultural festival “Behdienkhlam 2018” was celebrated at the small peripheral town of Jowai, the District headquarters of Jaintia Hills District in Meghalaya .The festival is also known as the festival for chasing away the Demon of Cholera.

7.The Delhi government has launched a “happiness curriculum” in state-run schools. The curriculum involves a “happiness period” of 45 minutes and five minutes of meditation before each class. It will include meditation, moral values and mental exercises.


8.Chairperson NCST (National Commission for Scheduled Tribes) Presents Special Report on “Indira Sagar Polavaram Project” Affected Tribal People to President of India. Polavaram Project is a multi-purpose irrigation project which has been accorded national project status by the central government.This dam stands across the Godavari River .

9.'Cvigil' a mobile app launched by the Election Commission of India to enable citizens to report on violation of election code of conduct. It will be operational only where elections are announced.

10.India’s homegrown fighter aircraft Tejas commences operations. Tejas is a single-seat, single-jet engine, multirole light fighter. It is the smallest and lightest multi-role supersonic fighter aircraft in the Indian Air Force.
