1.HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate the
17th World Sanskrit Conference to be held at Vancouver, Canada from 9th to 13th
July, 2018.
2.World Zoonosis Day is observed on 6th July every year. It
commemorates 6th July 1885, the day on which Louis Pasteur successfully
administered the first vaccine against, a zoonotic disease, to Joseph Meister
after he was attacked by a rabid dog. Zoonoses are viral diseases like
rabies and influenza.
3.The International Round Table Conference on "Data for
New India" has organised by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme
Implementation (MoSPI) in New Delhi during 9-10th July, 2018. The
purpose of the Round Table Conference is to identify innovative ideas for
improving the statistical system in India.
4.India's latest frontline warship INS Trikand has reached
Sri Lanka,INS Trikand is a state-of-the-art warship of the Indian Navy equipped
with a versatile range of weapons and sensors capable of addressing threats in
all three dimensions - air, surface and sub-surface.
5.The Indian Railways is planning to launch a tourist train,
Sri Ramayana Express, which will cover all locations associated with the Ramayana.
The train will run from Ayodhya (UP) to Colombo (Sri Lanka) via Rameshwaram
(Tamil Nadu).
6.Justice
Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan has been sworn in as new Chief Justice
of the Hyderabad High Court for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in
Hyderabad.
7.On July
6, Earth was at aphelion, officially at its farthest from the
sun, Aphelion Day is a special event that takes place once a year. On this
date, the Earth is at its biggest distance from the sun. This point is called
the aphelion. At aphelion, Earth receives about 7% less sun than it does in
January.
8.NASA has announced it would give funds to Made In Space’s
project- RAMA (Reconstituting Asteroids into Mechanical Automata),These
techniques could be beneficial to scientific goals for understanding the solar
system and its formation.
