1.Sathyasri Sharmila enrolled as Tamil Nadu's first
transgender lawyer. At 36 years, Sharmila will be the first transgender in the
state, and probably one of the few in the country, to register as lawyer.
2.The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)
along with the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology
(IDRBT).submitted a proposal to set up a Centre of Excellence for blockchain
technology in Hyderabad to drive innovation. The technology will be used to
secure land records in Telangana. After this, the C-DAC's Hyderabad unit will
be the first one by the government for blockchain technology.
3.Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani met Israel's
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Uri Ariel and announced a joint
working group (JWG) between Gujarat and Israel in the fields of agriculture,
horticulture and allied sectors. The objective of the meeting was strengthening
the Indo-Israeli agricultural cooperation and extension of the Indo-Israel
Agriculture Plan (IIAP).
4.‘IPledgefor9′
Achievers Awards were given recently to individuals and teams of doctors from
the private sector and States for their exemplary services, outstanding support
of institutions and commitment from support partners in achieving
PMSMA’s(Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan) objectives of safe
motherhood to every woman in the country.
5.Currently, Maharashtra has total five Unesco World Heritage
Sites and this number is highest among all states and UTs in India. The sites
include Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves, Elephanta Caves, Chhatrapati Shivaji
Maharaj Terminus and the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco buildings of South
Mumbai.
6.Prime
Minister Narendra Modi recently met a group of ten tribal students from
Maharashtra who were a part of a team of the ‘Mission Shaurya’ initiative of
the Adivasi Vikas Vibhag of the Maharashtra State Government.It was a joint initiative of the state Tribal
department and Chandrapur Collectorate to scale Everest.
