1.IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, BITS Pillani and Jio Institute have been granted 'Institution of eminence' tag by Human Resource Development Ministry.The aim of the "Institutions of Eminence" scheme is to bring selected higher educational institutions in top 500 of world ranking in the next 10 years and in top 100 eventually overtime.

2.India and South Korea have signed five MoUs in the field of Science and Technology in New Delhi. Establishment of Future Strategy Group and Cooperation in Bio-technology and Bio-economy. The India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre also opened in New delhi.

3.Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh will lead the 18-member Indian men's hockey squad at 18th Asian Games 2018 which will begin in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia in August 2018.

4.Samsung has set up the world’s largest mobile phone factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The facility was inaugurated jointly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in. 

5.The 67th plenary meeting of North Eastern Council (NEC) has started at Shillong in Meghalaya on 9th of July, NEC is a regional planning body of eight Northeastern states. Implementation of ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ Ayushman Bharat pertaining to the northeastern states were discussed in the plenary.

6.India’s ace squash player Dipika Pallikal has been appointed as Asia’s representative in the prestigious Athletes Advisory Commission of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). 

7.Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has released the final rankings of States in Ease of Doing Business.The top rankers are Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Haryana. Jharkhand and Gujarat stood fourth and fifth respectively. India secured 100th position in the World Bank’s ease of doing business (EDB) index 2018.
