1.Rajasthan will soon have its first 'cow sanctuary', a
shelter for 10,000 bovines spread over an area of more than 220 hectares in
Bikaner district.
2.A team of doctors, from the Blood Bank of Kasturba Medical
College (KMC) Mangalore, came across a rare blood group and identified it as
'pp' or 'P null' phenotype. This is the first time that the P blood group
null phenotype has been detected in India.
3.The Lok Sabha has passed the Criminal Law
(Amendment) Bill, 2018. It
provides for stringent punishment including
death penalty for those convicted of raping girls below the age of 12 years.
4.The Ministry Of Earth
Sciences Plans Rs 8000 Crore ‘Deep Ocean Mission’ To Boost
India’s Sea Exploration Capabilities. The focus of the mission will be on deep-sea mining, ocean
climate change advisory services, underwater vehicles and underwater robotics
related technologies.
5.Invest India and the UAE Minister for Artificial
Intelligence (AI) signed an MoU for India - UAE Artificial Intelligence Bridge
in New Delhi. The MoU was signed in the presence of Minister of
Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu.
6.Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman handed over two types
of indigenously built high-power multi-fuel tank engines are V-46-6 and
V92S2, can power up the tanks - T-72 Ajeya and T-90 Bhishma. This making of
fully indigenized engines, for the first time, is under the Center's 'Make in
India' programme.
