1. The Uttarakhand High Court accorded the
status of 'legal person or entity' to the animals in the state. The HC stated
that "they have a distinct persona with corresponding rights, duties and
liabilities of a living person".
2.YES Bank announced has received final regulatory approval
from the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to start mutual fund
business. This approval is subsequent to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI)
approval.
3.UNESCO has come into an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh
government to set up a 'Design University for Gaming' in Visakhapatnam.
4.Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia from India has clinched gold in the 65kg
category at the 2018 Tbilisi Grand Prix tournament by defeating Iranian
wrestler Mehran Nasiri. Punia is the 2018 Commonwealth Games gold
medallist.
5.The National Security Guard (NSG) will be the first central
paramilitary force to opt for e-ticketing instead of the railway warrant under
an agreement signed with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation
(IRCTC).
6.The 8th International Convention of Saurashtra Patel
Cultural Samaj 2018 has started in California, United States on July 5. Prime
Minister Narendra Modi addressed International Convention through video
conferencing on July 6.
7.NASA puts
finishing touches to 4,30,000mph Parker Solar Probe that will launch next month
to help predict devastating solar storms.NASA’s historic Parker Solar Probe
mission will revolutionize our understanding of the sun, where changing
conditions can propagate out into the solar system, affecting Earth and other
worlds.
8.ISRO recently conducted the first ‘pad abort’ test critical
for a future human space mission. pad abort test is the first
in a series of tests to qualify a crew escape system technology of a manned
mission in the future.
9.National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) recently added four
species into the center’s recovery Programme for critically endangered species. The species are Northern
River Terrapin, Clouded Leopard, Arabian Sea Humpback Whale and Red Panda.
